Down to Earth propose a pause from all that is hectic in life. It offers a tactile experience that will appeal to all your senses. Down to Earth is not all about looking, it is also about tasting, touching and to be grounded.

Down to Earth is a living meeting point between the people involved and the visitors. Truly engaged artisans, crafters and designers come together this weekend to present and to talk about their work, different craft techniques and unique materials drawn from nature. Working with craft means to invest in time. Slow time. All the objects exhibited at Down to Earth have been made from caring and ethical choices. They represent an alternative to the mass produced. In Down to Earth it is not all about the well-made craft object, it is also about telling stories through materials and to show that objects are not only functional, but also bearers of meaning. As you become an owner of such an object, you become an ambassador for an attitude of change.

The Festival takes place at Hovedøya a 7 minutes boattrip from Aker brygge.
