TO KNIT WITH PURE NATURE
I like to have access to a rich selection of yarns so I can create whenever the inspiration arises. As a "wild knitter" I want to knit with pure natural products of good quality. It is not always easy to know which yarn are well produced, so when I cane across the Danish manufacturer BC yarn I was very happy. They offer a rich selection of natural yarns, and they are mostly organic and GOTS certified.
A GOTS certification guarantees that organic production and high animal welfare. Without the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, heavy metals, chlorine bleaches, PVC, nickel or chromium (puh…). The GOTS brand is also a guarantee that the yarn is produced in fair conditions and without involving child labor. Colors used in GOTS yarn must be environmentally friendly and there should be control over all waste and waste water in production. If one does not know the origin and production process of the yarn, a GOTS certification is a great security.
All the yarn from BC are made from natural fibers. Of course, it costs more to produce ethical and environmentally friendly yarn, ergo, the yarn becomes more expensive to buy than many other yarns in the market. I believe that when you know what you payi for, it's hard to argue that it's not worth it. Pure nature - pure conscience.
I have not found many Norwegian yarn stores that offer their yarn, and at least not the variants I fell for. That's why I decided to take it in so I can offer it myself. Below you will get a small presentation, I look forward to showing you more of this beautiful yarn eventually.
