We all float with the tides of time.
Each momement has ripple effect.
Nothing is void of meaning.
All things are connected.
The quote is my own, from the book "Visual Wisdom" that I designed and wrote, together with Ragnhild Wik and Filippa Tredal in 2018. I wanted to bring some of the poetry from this book into a new expression in my wild knit.
In Norse mythology, it was the Norns (Goddesses) Urd, Verdandne and Skuld who ruled time and people's destinies by spinning their life threads from the source of wisdom, “urdabrønn” the well of time. The three Norns represent the past, the present and the future. In the Norse perception of time, people seemed to value and resepect, the interconnectedness of all things. How the past must be integrated in the present moment, in order to create the future. That they are all equally important in the source of time, as every event, big or small, flows into the source, and emerge as knowledge of the world. From which the Norns spun - one thread for each life. All the threads of fate were woven into the great common carpet. Our common destiny, Wyrd. The Norse answer to Karma.
This collection is knitted with the awareness that we ourselves are Norns in our own lives. We must guard the time we are given, and thus contribute in making beautiful, lasting threads to the web of the world.
